Down By The River

Down By The River

Surrounded by barb wire this place sits alone near where the railroad crosses the river here in Grand Junction.
There's got to be some kind of history behind this...

"Our reward for taking for ourselves the riches of the world is to be condemned to gaze out fearfully as we hurtle madly past each other in shadowy glass and metal boxes."

Check this out, great concept...think I'll try my own version...

I just posted this:
Redstone-Marble-McLure Pass (070304)
where you'll find some pics of a motorcycle ride we took yesterday.
The loop was from Glenwood Springs over the McLure Pass to Delta, some 260 miles out and back to Grand Junction.
Took pictures of the beehive kilns at Redstone, a marble tailing at Marble and of an Aspen grove at the top of the pass.
What a great day...

There are many stands of Birch up on the Grand Mesa, some groups long and slender, some knuckled and bent all to Hell.

Very cool...
Stop Motion Studies - Series 10
Maybe the Voice HAS a reputation of leaning towards the left,
but you gotta admit...
that "State Of The Union" speech we all heard the other night was little more than a slap in the face, no?
